Dear First name / friend,
Welcome to Day 1 of the January No-Shopping Reset.
Today is simple: we’re pressing pause.
Not forever. Not dramatically. Just enough to interrupt autopilot.
Because let's be honest, a lot of shopping isn’t intentional — it’s reactive. Sales emails. Scrolling. Boredom. Stress. “That looks cute.” And suddenly something is on the way to our house.
I’m doing this reset right alongside you, because this stuff impacts all of us.
Today’s action:
👉🏼 Decide that for the length of this reset, we’re pausing unnecessary shopping.
Groceries, toiletries, and true replacements don’t count — everything else gets a pause.
That’s it. No lists to make. No rules to memorize. Just a clear line in the sand.
One optional suggestion: keep a small notebook, journal, or even a note in your phone as we go. When a shopping urge pops up, jot down what triggered it or what you were about to buy. You don’t need to analyze it — just capture it. That information will be useful later.
When/if you feel the urge to shop, interrupt it. Don’t act on it — just notice what triggered it.
We’re not fixing anything yet. We’re paying attention.
Talk tomorrow,
Beth
