Issue #55 | 1.5.26

Welcome back to Beyond the Tour where twice a month you'll receive practical tips and resources to help you sharpen and execute your enrollment strategy.

Let's get started.
               Miriam
this week's tips:
1. ❤️ Toss around love like confetti.

Remind families why they fell in love with your program.

This week, choose 5 families, and send them a note about their child - maybe a delicious moment you witnessed in the hallway or an anecdote from a teacher.* In your note, include a slice of your school's value proposition, reminding them why they chose your school in the first place.

Keep it simple.
Keep it doable.

Your note can look something like this:

Hi Barbie - Happy 2026!
I had to share the sweetest moment I just witnessed in the hallway, where I saw Skipper helping a 1st grader find something in her cubby. Skipper has grown so much! What a gift to see her embody the school values of Community + Care. She is walking the walk!
Best wishes to Ken and the rest of the family.

Don't forget to recruit internally. You'll be happy you did.
*NOTE: This is a prime opportunity to reconnect with teachers and ask them for some prize moments they have witnessed with their students. If you're not doing this already, try to make a habit of walking around, visiting teachers, and asking them for their stories. It helps them feel connected, and gives you great material to sell your program.

2. 🏷️ Everyone loves a good sale.

As you plan to enroll new students this Spring, make it easy for them to get their hands on school merch.

Include a coupon to the school store in your welcome packages, welcome emails, or on their next visit to campus.

Get your families out there as walking ads for the school!

3. 🎇 Keep alumni connected.

Plan a reunion party by graduation year. Tell students about it now, before they graduate, so it's something to look forward to. If you're lucky - and we all know that luck is the product of hard work to make things seem magically easy - make it a tradition and a can't-miss event.

If your school ends in 8th grade, host a reunion party for your graduates 4 years from now when they are gradutating high school. If you end in high school, plan the graduation reunion for when your alumni complete college.

Make it sweet, celebratory, and start showing your students today that when they are alumni, they are a part of your community.
