Hello Friends!
If you're still reeling from December madness, don't worry - you're not alone. One year I didn't get rid of the Christmas tree until March, and as I was dragging it out to the curb a stranger walking by said “You're doing that NOW??” and then shook his head at me. Then we both laughed. New York, obviously.
Anyway, it's not March yet and mayyyybe you've put your Christmas decorations away, but I for one am still dealing with the influx of STUFF that comes along with the holiday season. We do both Christmas and Hanukkah over here and… it's a lot! So, consider this your sign to take a look at what came in, and what needs to go out.
The easiest place to start when attempting to tame the Toy Beast is to take a look at the things that are neatly put away. This is always a great place to start culling an active mess! If it's rarely used and you're short on space, byeeee. Identify high-value storage spaces: bins or shelves that are in easy reach of small hands. Match those spaces with high-value toys: the very best are things the kids can get out, play with, and put away on their own with minimal adult supervision (shout out to Magnatiles). Then continue to move the active mess into the space you've made, keeping things in categories according to how your kids use them.
Toys can feel like an insurmountable task (I totally get it) BUT I promise it's not. If thinking about the play area gives you hives, let's set aside some time to look at it together. I bet we can find things the kids don't play with or have outgrown, and I bet we can find some nice space for the things we want to keep. I take all of the trash and donations, so you're just left with a sparkling refresh. Use the button below to give me a holler!
AND a bit of fun news!!!! I'm very excited to share my brand-spanking-new
website, ready for your eyeballs! I spent the last part of 2025 working with
