Welcome to 2026!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Thank you for being here.

As the year turns, I’ve been reflecting on what I want to center in my work - and in my own life - this season.

I shared the topics we’ll be exploring this month in an earlier email and you may be wondering why these in particular.

WHY THESE TOPICS?

I wrote a short blog to explain that more fully, but here’s the heart of it:

Based on research I conducted throughout 2025, one thing has become increasingly clear: our sense of well-being is deeply shaped by the quality of our relationships.

Not just by the absence of conflict, but by how supported, steady, and connected we feel within them.

That insight has shaped my commitment for this season: to focus on relational wellness; the everyday ways our relationships either support or strain our capacity to feel settled.

FIRST UP, CONFLICT & CONFUSION

Throughout the January email series, we will gently explore how conflict, confusion, and avoidance show up relationally – and what it means to care for our well-being in the middle of those patterns.

There’s nothing to fix or resolve right away. Just intentional spaces to notice what’s been asking for attention.

This week, we begin with our first relational focus: conflict - the kind that shakes you up like a snow globe. Where even after things settle, there’s often confusion about how you got there and why it keeps happening.

If you’d like to read more about this week’s reflection, you can find it linked below.

MONTHLY SETTLE IN PRACTICES

I’ll be exploring these themes in shared spaces this year, starting with a monthly guided Settle In practice held on the first Saturday of each month.

Our first practice is this Saturday,
January 10, 2026
(still getting used to typing the year out, January got here QUICK)

it's virtual, free, and early (8am MST), designed to help us arrive more settled & reflective as the weekend begins.

If it feels like a good fit, I’d love to have you join.

before we close, here’s the most important part for today: This relational focus may or may not be what you want or need in this season.

Maybe weekly emails feel like too much. Maybe relational content isn’t what you’re focused on right now. That’s okay! I truly mean that.

I want to offer you a few forks in the road so you can choose what works best for you: You’re welcome to continue receiving weekly reflections, shift to a monthly summary, or opt for a quarterly update.

You can select the pace that feels right here: [choose your pace]

If this ends up being our last shared email for a while, I want you to know how grateful I am that you’ve been part of this space. I look forward to crossing paths again, perhaps in a future Settle In practice.

Take good care of yourself and keep gently arriving into this new year.

warmly

LaShawn
