Where Do You Go After Hosting a World Championship?

Where do you go once you’ve held a world championship event?
Most would say it’s hard to go up from there — but not us.

After an unforgettable season and representing Canada on the world stage at the Adventure Racing World Championships, Expedition Canada is building on everything we’ve learned to grow the sport through stronger athlete support, partnerships, and storytelling.

Over the past season, Expedition Canada has been more than a race. It has been a journey. From the start lines we stood on together, to the finish lines we crossed exhausted and proud, we have seen what is possible when committed athletes, thoughtful preparation, and belief in the sport come together. Representing Canada on the world stage at the Adventure Racing World Championships reinforced what it takes to compete at the highest level, where our strengths truly lie, and where opportunity still exists to push further.

Just as importantly, we built something deeper than results. We built relationships between teammates, across regions, and within the global adventure racing community. We connected with racers who inspire us, organizers who are driving the sport forward, and partners who see the potential of expedition racing not just as a competition, but as a powerful story worth telling. Those connections reinforced something we have always believed. Adventure racing thrives when community, collaboration, and shared purpose lead the way.

Adventure racing is growing. The depth of talent is increasing, the professionalism of events continues to rise, and the appetite for big, meaningful expeditions is stronger than ever. Canada has a place in that future, not just as participants, but as leaders. With our organization’s experience in building brands, creating partnerships, and working alongside sponsors, tourism groups, and marketing teams, we see a clear opportunity to help elevate the profile of the sport and the athletes who give everything to it.

Looking ahead, Expedition Canada is focused on turning that vision into action. We want to help recognize adventure racing athletes for the world class competitors they are, build partnerships that reduce the cost of participation, and increase media coverage through strategic storytelling, tourism alignment, and marketing initiatives. Our goal is to make expedition racing more accessible, more visible, and more sustainable for racers, race directors, and fans alike.

We are also carrying forward everything we learned this season to shape what Expedition Canada becomes next. That includes our intention to grow our Expedition into a sought after race on the global stage, while also supporting the success of other races across the country. By working together, sharing knowledge, and aligning our efforts, we believe Canada can help create a model for how adventure racing grows, one that builds a dedicated following, attracts new audiences, and inspires more people to care deeply about the sport and ultimately take part in it.

This is not a pause, it is a new launch point. The work ahead is ambitious, exciting, and rooted in the belief that adventure racing in Canada is only just really getting started. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey so far, and we cannot wait to share what is coming next.

Stay tuned. The adventure continues.
