Hello! This note includes a preview of February's Creative Spark Club mail. If you're already a member and like your mail to be a surprise, please skip that section (it's the last one!)

Today is the 10th day of 100 Every Days! I have loved seeing everyone's different canvases and how you're filling in your sections! Having a daily creative practice can be a challenge--keep at it! If you're a little behind that's OK, you can always catch up. (I'm getting on a plane tonight and traveling back in time 1 day so I am not sure if I am caught up or behind at this point lol but I will catch up if needed in WA!) With Lunar New Year around the corner and being back in Taiwan, I’ve been thinking a lot about celebrations, our histories and heritage, traditions we’ve had or want to create, where we come from and where we want to go. We’ll be exploring these topics and picking something from it to document.

Our project will be a cross between a collage and a scrapbook page, utilizing images, layers, patterns, and other paper goods to help us tell our story, share a recipe / game / old or new tradition, highlight a memory, or something else that may come to your mind.

Pictured above is my collage scrapbook page inspired by trips to Taiwan throughout my life. I didn't go often and was born and raised in the US so I haven't had a strong connection with this part of me--I'm only starting to appreciate it more as I've gotten older. (I actually lived in Taiwan for a year when I was 2 but I don't remember!) In addition to the materials from the mail, I also used a map, mini photo sticker, and postcard, and my mom helped me write Chinese characters on the vellum to layer. I’ll be sharing more about it in the letter!
