Dear Sunday Sparker,
I am giving you the permission you are not giving yourself: The new year starts today!
If you didn’t like how the first 11 days went down, you can start again now! You make the rules.
(If you started already, keep going! You are doing great!)
My first 10 days were productive despite the cold. I am already done with my first goal-setting session of the year with a favorite client (hello Jordan Ahli Bank gang!). On the same day, I completed the first Zoom session with my All Year Goals community. Lesson learned here: don’t book 2 big things on the same day, no matter how many hours apart they are, it was unnecessary stress.
The week was too busy for me to enjoy my brand-new planners and journals; I barely used them. Hopefully, I will this week.
I finally got to print my gorgeous calendar today (scroll down to download your copy!) to track my early wake-up days starting tomorrow (don’t get me wrong, I'll cross off all days I woke up early last week).
My kids’ winter break is the shortest it’s ever been, as the school is implementing a new 3-semester system that includes a 2-week spring break. They go back to school tomorrow.
One of the highlights of last week was hanging out with my 12-year-old daughter and my almost-10-year-old son at a cafe to plan his birthday (Hello 2-digits!) after trying to plan it at home for a few days without success. I just couldn't focus enough to listen to his ideas. When we were leaving, Faris said, “We should do this more often.” It’s the first time he celebrates his birthday in a school week, yet his birthday will fall on a weekend, funny!
In other news, I am sending you this email from a much bigger computer screen because my previous screen was cracked by your least likely suspect: my 17-month-old cub, Basil, who threw the wireless mouse right at it when his sister was holding him in her lap to look at some photos. My hubby enjoyed how I couldn’t get mad at him. Basil finally started walking a few steps every day in the last days of 2025. Hello Toddlerhood.
Wishing you all a great week ahead.
