DESIGNING FOR SEASONS OF LIFE

I expected to start 2026 with the ' vacation glow ' … sun-kissed and high-energy. Instead, January met me with a flu that wouldn't quit and the heavy heart that came with losing a loved one. It wasn't the ' Grand Opening ' I planned for the new year.
But in the quiet, I realized that the best outlook isn't about forced positivity, it’s about designing a life ( and a home ) that holds both our joy and our sorrow. Beyond the perfect paint color or sofa, a good home supports us when we are most vulnerable. It's everything from the light in the kitchen on a hard morning to the quiet comfort of a bed at the end of a long day.

My Outlook for 2026
Despite the difficult start, my mindset is one of profound optimism. This year, my work is dedicated to intentionality. Whether I am staging a home to help a family transition to their next chapter or designing a sanctuary for a client to grow in, I am focused on spaces that promote well-being and resilience.

beyond the aesthetics
Design is about so much more than what we see ; it is about how we feel. Here are 3 simple ways to begin creating a home that holds you :
1. Prioritize Natural Light
Open those curtains, invite the sun in to act as your primary interior accessory, effortlessly resetting your internal rhythm while lifting the room's mood. You will feel refreshed, hopeful, and connected to the day.
2. Edit the Excess
Give yourself permission to release what no longer serves you, creating the mental breathing room essential for a new chapter. Clearing the clutter helps you feel lighter and brings a sense of calm.
3. Design for Memory
Anchor your home with "soul pieces" that tell your story. Bridge where you’ve been with the vision of where you are going. Surrounding yourself with things you love helps you feel seen, safe, and truly at home.

I’m looking forward to a year of beautiful transformations … not just in our spaces, but in the very lens through which we see the world.
May your 2026 be a year defined by abundant light, soulful balance, and a home that supports & comforts you through every season of life!

Warmly,
 Minol  Shamreen
