February Newsletter
Hello February at Dixon Dance Studio!

We are loving the energy in the studio right now. February is such a special time in the dance season — classes are in a great rhythm, dancers are feeling more confident, and the growth we’ve seen since fall has been incredible. It’s so rewarding to watch their technique, focus, and performance quality continue to rise each week.

This is the heart of our training season. Dancers are refining skills, building strength, and learning the discipline that comes from consistent effort. These months are where the biggest breakthroughs happen, and we’re so proud of the dedication our dancers are showing both in class and at home.

We are officially diving into recital season as we prepare for our Summer 2026 show, Making the Band 🎸🎤 Classes are now beginning to balance strong technique training with recital choreography. Our teachers have been having so much fun planning music and dances, and we can already tell this show is going to be high-energy, entertaining, and full of personality. We can’t wait to bring it to life with your dancers.
February is also an exciting month for our Competition Team as they head to their first competition of the season on February 13–15. We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and commitment, and we know they will represent Dixon Dance Studio with professionalism and heart.

Many of you have already had the chance to meet and work with Lisette Abundez as she has been assisting with some of Miss Kiana’s classes. Lisette is a DDS alum and a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University, where she performed and choreographed with the school’s dance company, Orchesis. It has been wonderful having her back in the studio sharing her knowledge and passion with our dancers.

As always, thank you for being part of our DDS family. We are committed to quality training, leading with kindness and integrity, creating a space where every dancer feels they belong, and making sure there is always room for growth and joy. We are so grateful to share this season with you.

Warmly,
The DDS Team

✨ It’s time to turn it up, take the stage, and DANCE. ✨
We are beyond excited for this year’s Summer Recital: Making the Band — a high-energy celebration of music in all its forms. From rock and pop to hip hop, K-pop, and even epic classical influences, this show brings together every style, every era, and every kind of “band” that gets us moving. Think big sound, bold movement, and serious for-those-about-to-rock vibes.
Join us at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater as our dancers step into the spotlight and bring this music-driven journey to life. This annual tradition is more than a performance — it’s the moment where all the hard work, growth, and dedication from the season come together on one stage.
Performing is a vital part of a dancer’s training. It builds confidence, showcases progress, and teaches dancers how to rise to the occasion under pressure. There’s nothing quite like the rush of live music, bright lights, and the energy of a cheering audience. Every dancer walks away with unforgettable memories, new confidence, and a deep sense of accomplishment.
So turn the volume up, feel the beat, and get ready to watch our dancers rock the stage. This is their moment — and it’s going to be loud, powerful, and unforgettable. 🔥🎤
For those about to dance…we salute you. 🎶🖤
