Launched at the OutDoor tradeshow in Friedrichshafen in July 2006, the EOG Association for Conservation came into existence. The initial name was fairly swiftly changed to something that was not quite such a mouthful, but, as it was in the beginning, the reason for EOCA’s existence remains to this day - to raise money to fund vital conservation work around the world.
The breadth of projects funded by EOCA continues to inspire the team and its members: engaging communities; training, educating and creating alternative livelihoods where appropriate; and leaving a legacy long after funding has finished. Projects tackle issues such as:
- Restoring damaged habitats on land & at sea
- Reforestation & natural regeneration
- Protection & conservation of threatened species
- Removal of invasive species
- Path & trail repair
- Coral restoration
- Human wildlife conflict mitigation
- Single-use plastic & litter removal
- Rewetting bogs and peatland
