Real (approachable) Style Advice for Real (grown-up) Women with
Real (smart) Budgets

January 25, 2026

Dear First name / friend,
Another snowy Sunday here in Newport—and from the looks of it, many (most?) of us are dealing with this same winter storm. I hope this finds you safe, warm, and cozy, maybe enjoying the slower pace a snow day brings. My biggest hope is always minimal power outages…those are what really make me nervous, especially for anyone elderly or homebound.

We have another high-stakes (and stressful) football day ahead, with our beloved Pats playing my brother’s Broncos. He's lived in Denver for almost 40 years and may be the world’s biggest Broncos fan. Wehave a lively group text with his family and mine, which will start heating up very soon. 😬

Now I have a question for you….I'm curious how my No-Shop January ladies are doing—did you stick with it? Slow things down? Notice any shifts in habits or impulses? Even small changes count, and I’d love to hear how it went for you.

Read on for a recap of the January No-Shop Reset, a look at what’s coming in February with Better + Less, and a fun FlirtyFinds Tipsy Tuesday from my visit to New Jersey.
1. January turned out to be about more than not shopping.
The No-Shop Reset ended on Friday, and it turned into one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. What began as a simple pause from shopping became a daily conversation about confidence, decision fatigue, and why getting dressed can feel harder than it needs to at this stage of life.

This wasn’t about restriction or following someone else’s rules. It was about pausing long enough to notice patterns, question assumptions, and make better choices that lead to better results.

All 15 emails are linked in one place if you’d like to read (or reread) the full series.

2. What's coming in February to set us up for SPRING
The January No-Shop Reset wrapped up on Friday, and the response was amazing. My inbox has been full of notes from women who said the series gave them real clarity about what actually drives their shopping habits.

The insights I gained from creating this program, following it myself, and hearing from so many of you helped me get even clearer on my B.Styled philosophy and messaging — and it can be summed up in two words: Better + Less.

Fewer decisions. Better choices. Less noise (especially influencer noise). Not more stuff — but better use of what you already own, and smarter decisions when you do buy.

That’s exactly where I’m headed next. I’m putting the finishing touches on a new short program called Better + Less: The February Edit — a guided wardrobe and style edit to help you clean up what’s not working, clarify what is, and make getting dressed easier before spring and all its choices arrive.

More on that very soon. 👀

3. This Week’s Style Lesson: 👉🏼 Same Outfit.  Different Result.
In this week’s Quicky Tipsy Tuesday, Jamie and I show you how small details make a big difference. Same clothes, different necklaces, totally different vibe. It’s not about buying more clothes — it’s about making good basics better.

4. An Easy Valentine's Gift Idea (for you, your daughter, sister, friend). One she'll actually wear!
These heart necklaces from FlirtyFinds are a great example of how one good accessory can do a lot of heavy lifting in your wardrobe. They’re modern, versatile, and the kind of instant outfit-finisher that makes simple clothes look more put-together. Valentine’s Day is coming up fast, so consider this your easy gift idea (including for yourself). I've never been a traditional heart-jewelry girl, but I love these and the subtle pendants… available in circles and ovals too.

Here are some examples. Shop the entire collection HERE, and use code WINTER for 20% off sitewide.
