HAPPY FEBRUARY! I feel like that 30 Rock meme where Liz Lemon is like: oof, what a year, and Jack goes: Lemon, it's February.

This newsletter will be short and sweet. I basically just wanted to let you know that I have a FREE BOOK for you. If you're into Bridgerton, this may be of interest to you, since my freebie is a delightful (and spicy) historical romance.

Anywho, here's what you can expect in this newsletter…
  1. First to Fall is FREE!
  2. February Signing Events: Charlotte and San Diego!
  3. Book Rec of the Month: Stranger Than Fan Fiction by Piper Sheldon
  4. Personal/Writing Life Updates: Ice Ice (Storm) Baby.
  5. Monthly Recipe: Stromboli
  6. My Books!
  7. That's it. Don't get your hopes up.

Did you know that I have a completed historical romance series? Well, I do. First to Fall is book #1 in the Bartholomew series of standalones, and it is currently FREE on Amazon. This is a great low-risk way to try out my historicals, even if you've never read the genre before. I hear from readers all the time, that my histrom novels are welcoming for the modern reader. They're all DUAL POV and written in 1st person perspective. Same humor and charm you'd find in my small-town romances, but more cravats and carriages. Snap up your copy of First to Fall for FREE by February 7th!

Upcoming Events!

Personal / Writing Life
  • I literally had to look back through my photos to see what happened in January. Last month felt like a blur despite January always being a million years long. Mr. Hatcher and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary (see ring photo)! We're holding off on a weekend away spa adventure until things calm down. We've had some family members in the hospital recently and some travel delays in the form of an ice storm that impacted half the country (photo below).
  • I joined Lauren Connolly in conversation (photo below) at my local indie bookstore to help celebrate the release of her brand new book baby (Love in Plane Sight). Fun was had by all!
  • I've been writing like the wind, focusing my attention on wrapping up the final book in the Kirby Falls series. Leaf Well Enough Alone is coming May 26, 2026!! I've also been taking copious notes for my next series (set in Asheville, NC) that features a small town vibe and a cast full of foodies. I can't wait to talk about this one. But it combines my love of writing and reading and baking. And swoony romance, of course. SO EXCITING! More details on this SOON.

Monthly Recipe
I love to cook and bake, so I thought it might be fun to include a favorite recipe in my newsletters.
*not responsible if it turns out bad*

I tried out this recipe recently for homemade stromboli. I used this dough recipe because it's high-protein and I like it, but you could use the dough mentioned in the recipe or even purchase your own dough from the grocery store.

This one comes together easily, and you can personalize it with your favorite ingredients inside. I used deli cuts of black forest ham, salami, and pepperoni. The recipe even has a helpful video to show you the technique for rolling and tucking the dough.

Delicious, filling, will make again. I hope you enjoy!

If you're into that sort of thing. No pressure, though. I'm over there with random thoughts and ramblings, usually early in the morning when I can't sleep.
