This is what happens when retail is designed to work like a system and how routine-based anchors improve centre performance.

Hi,

I built The Vault Room with a clear goal: to design a retail space that performs better for landlords, tenants, and the centre as a whole.

Traditional retail relies too heavily on peaks, weekends, events, and seasonal moments.

But centres perform best when there’s consistent daily activity, predictable foot traffic, and reasons for people to return regularly.”

That’s why Pilates was introduced as a daily-use anchor from the very beginning. Routine-based uses drive repeat frequency, longer dwell time, and natural circulation, especially in outdoor malls and shopping centres.

This project was delivered end-to-end with centre performance in mind, from brand and concept development to hybrid planning, local vendor curation, operations, and rollout. The intent was never a pop-up for novelty’s sake, but a flexible activation model that supports neighbouring tenants and increases overall engagement.

As retail continues to shift, I remain focused on testing, refining, and scaling hybrid models that activate space and support long-term performance.

The project isn’t about what looks impressive at the end. It’s about what’s embedded into the space during construction: softened transitions, refined proportions, sound-absorbing materials, and millimetre-level decisions that quietly support the body over time.
The intention is simple, but rare: the longer you stay, the more at ease you feel.
