Celebrating a Legacy of Hope
Legacy Residential Homes residents commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with meaningful reflection and creativity.

Each location designed posters celebrating Dr. King’s life, legacy, and message of equality, using art as a way to express understanding and appreciation for his impact.

To deepen the experience, the boys visited the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, where they explored powerful exhibits highlighting freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice.

The day served as both a celebration of Dr. King’s birthday and a reminder of the importance of his work, inspiring thoughtful conversations and learning across our community.

Playing Together, Growing Together
Laughter, friendly competition, and teamwork filled the room during Legacy Residential Homes’ recent Game Night.

Residents and staff came together to enjoy a variety of board, card, and tabletop games, creating a relaxed space to connect and unwind.

The evening was more than just play - it was an opportunity to build relationships, practice communication skills, and share positive moments together.

Events like Game Night remind us that meaningful connection and joy are essential parts of a strong, supportive community.

A Birthday to Remember at Scene 75
Legacy Residential Homes residents and staff recently enjoyed an exciting outing to Scene 75 in Cincinnati to celebrate a resident’s birthday in a big way.

The day was filled with laughter, games, and shared moments as everyone joined in the fun and made the celebration truly memorable.

The outing highlighted the importance of connection, joy, and celebrating milestones together.

It was a wonderful reminder that birthdays are not just about getting older - they’re about celebrating the value and support each person brings to the community.

resident tip of the month
Small Tasks, Big Life Skills
Building daily routines is a cornerstone of independent living. From completing chores to practicing self-care and learning practical tasks, routines help residents develop structure, responsibility, and confidence.

Consistent routines teach time management, accountability, and life readiness - skills that support independence both now and in the future.

5 Steps to Build Strong Daily Routines
  1. Use Checklists: Outline daily expectations like hygiene, room care, and personal responsibilities.
  2. Assign Chores: Rotate tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and trash removal.
  3. Coach, Don’t Do: Guide residents through tasks instead of completing them for them.
  4. Encourage Self-Care: Build habits around hygiene, organization, and personal responsibility.
  5. Offer Choices: Let residents make appropriate decisions to build ownership and confidence.
Strong daily routines create structure, build independence, and help residents develop the confidence and skills needed for successful, self-sufficient living.
