We find ourselves in a threshold moment in the year. February 2nd marks Candlemas, the ancient feast of the Presentation of Christ, when the elderly Simeon took the infant Jesus in his arms and proclaimed him "a light for revelation to the nations." We stand midway between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday, and something in both nature and spirit begins to stir.
“Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:29-32
