Do you trust what can't be seen?
February is a month of waiting. Waiting for the snow to melt. Waiting for the days to lengthen. Waiting for some sign of life in the ground.
What was Jesus waiting for in his 40 days in the desert? He was led out by the Holy Spirit, and at the end of his time he was tempted by Satan. What was happening every day, before his battle with the enemy? How did Jesus wait?
Even before a season of preparation, there must be waiting. Even preparation can feel hopeful as we move forward towards something concrete, new. How do we spend our time before we can even start preparing?
February feels like the month when we wait before we prepare. Lent signals the start of the 40 days before Easter. This is the time when we wait for the light to glimmer on the horizon.
