I missed last Monday. And honestly? For good reason.
I was hanging out with a friend who was in town, soaking up real life, real conversation, real connection. Then she left, and on Tuesday and I was immediately greeted by roughly one thousand things that needed catching up on. By the time I could’ve squeezed out a Love Monday it was Thursday and I had to make an executive decision: it probably wouldn’t be a good one. So I skipped it.
Growth. Boundaries. Leadership. Etc.
If I’m being real, this week felt heavy. As a business owner and as a human being.
At our Wednesday Female Founders meeting, we had a smaller, more intimate group, so we decided to lean into a big question “When do I know it’s right to post on my business page about current events?”
Uffda.
It was hard and thoughtful and honest and deeply respectful. No hot takes for sport. Just education, curiosity, and care. The kind of conversation that sticks with you. I thought about it for days afterward and eventually sat down and wrote about it, which I’m sharing below.
These moments can feel tricky, but they don’t have to be paralyzing. When your personal values and your business values are actually clear and aligned, decisions like this can become… dare I say… easier. Not effortless, but grounded. The article walks through some practical ways to navigate that tension without burning yourself out or betraying yourself.
Other than that, we’re just over here living life and aggressively waiting for spring. I have fully honored my cozy era in the new house. Heated blankets were used. Soup was consumed. Vibes were immaculate.
But I’m ready for green grass and warm air.
Yes, it’s Groundhog Day. Yes, he probably saw his shadow. But the days are getting longer. And honestly, I’ll take that win.
Email marketing doesn’t have to be overwhelming or ugly. I’ll set up your Flodesk account, create your first automated sequence, and design templates that match your brand.
🐎 Year of the Horse Eye Glasses Listen. These are loud in the best way. A little bold, a little playful, slightly unhinged in a confident midlife way. I ordered them from Zenni Opticaland I regret nothing. If glasses are on my face every waking hour, they might as well have a personality.
🧆 🥬 HELLO FRESH We're in a meal delivery season. When decision fatigue is high and life feels heavy, having dinner already decided feels like a luxury spa service for my brain. We go in streaks with HF but am I obsessed right now? Yes. I have a bunch of free boxes to give away if you've never tried HF. Here you go.
💰 Business Cash Flow, Net Worth, and Money Mindset Apparently this is my version of a thriller novel. I’m deep in the spreadsheets, asking better questions, and reminding myself that clarity is calming even when the numbers aren’t perfect yet. There’s something empowering about actually knowing what’s going on instead of vaguely stressing about it. If you've never calculated your net worth statement, I promise it is way more enlightening than you think,
💧 Water Truly revolutionary content here. I didn’t drink a drop of water in January. Dehydrated is an understatement. February is my month for more water.
👯♀️ Socializing My BFF and I went to an imomsohard show on a Friday night. At 8pm. Like a fully functioning adult human. I laughed, I stayed awake, I wore real pants. It reminded me that leaving the house is annoying until it’s actually wonderful.
What's happening inside the Grove?
If you’ve been craving a place where you can talk about business and the weight of being a human running one, The Grove is doing exactly that. Quietly powerful conversations. Tools you can actually use. And permission to do things your way, without the noise.
From early February through April, I’ll be sharing resources, conversations, and education around women’s heart health.
Less scary stats, more real awareness.
More paying attention. More care.
You’ll also notice a dedicated section in this newsletter focused on bringing awareness to women’s heart health as part of that commitment.
This matters because it’s personal.
Eight years ago, my father in law passed away after complications from open heart surgery. It was sudden and life altering, and it reshaped how I think about heart disease entirely.
And just three months ago, my mom passed away unexpectedly. She had a history of high blood pressure, something so many women live with quietly while taking care of everyone else. Until it touched my own family, I didn’t fully understand how often women’s heart health is minimized, misunderstood, or missed.
Heart disease in women doesn’t always show up as something dramatic. Sometimes it looks like chronic stress. Exhaustion. Putting yourself last. Saying “I’ll deal with it later.” (Sound familiar?) And too often, later comes too late.
Becoming a Woman of Impact is my way of honoring my mom, my father in law, and so many women navigating heart related diagnoses right now. It’s also for the women who don’t yet realize they’re at risk and deserve better information and better outcomes.
If this work resonates with you and you’d like to be part of my crusade, I’m currently building a small team around this effort. You can join my team here. Whether you want to help spread awareness, support events, or simply be part of the conversation, I’d love to connect. Sometimes impact starts with showing up together.
Fundraising donations can be made after February 6th. Don't worry, I'll share a link 😘
