This time of year, many people travel to escape the cold and we love that for you. Just a quick reminder: even if you’re away, your home still needs heat. Please keep your heat set to a consistent, moderate temperature while you’re gone.
Why? • Water pipes need warmth to prevent freezing. • Frozen pipes can burst. • And no one wants to come home to icicles inside their house.
If you’re planning to be away for more than a few days and you are one of our amazing tenants, let us know, we’re always happy to keep an extra eye on things. A little heat now saves a lot of headaches later.
☕️ The Cozy Corner
Winter comfort, simplified.
This month’s quiet reset and our February Favourites: • One drink that warms you from the inside out like a hug in a mug. • A blanket that feels like a yes (you don't even need to share)
• One evening with softer lighting and no agenda
You don’t need to optimize winter if you're not feeling the hustle vibes. Let it slow you down and get cozy. Your nervous system will thank you.
🔧 Good to Know
Cold-weather check-in: February is a great time for a quick winter once-over at home:
• Make sure vents and baseboard heaters aren’t blocked. • Peek under sinks for slow leaks (this is also good Feng Shui). • Clean mini-split filters to keep things running efficiently. • Keep baseboard heaters set to at least 15°C, even if the mini-split is your main heat source.
Mini-split heat pumps are great, but they don’t love extreme cold.
Baseboards are your winter safety net, not flashy, not exciting, but doing important work behind the scenes.
Most winter issues are small when caught early and annoying when ignored. Personally, we’re big fans of small fixes now = cozy, comfortable living later.
