Happy Sunday Everyone! This e-news is not an easy one and will probably make many uncomfortable. I even debated about writing it, but was encouraged to do so spiritually. I have been accused of hating Jesus and Christians and this couldn't be further from the truth. But I will tell you what I do struggle with and that is ‘bad religion'. Doesn't matter if it is Christian, Hindu, Judaism, or whatever faith you practice, if you are pushing your personal beliefs onto others and judging them because of how they live that is what I call bad religion.

I grew up Catholic and even entered the convent for several years. I went to theology school and went through formation. At one time my religion was an important part of my life until I started to see what goes on behind the scenes of the “church”.

So, I ask when does organized religion become dangerous? In my personal opinion when you follow anything blindly and without question it becomes dangerous. When you accept your pastor or priest's interpretation of scripture without question it becomes dangerous.
If your church leader is telling you it is ok to condemn and hate and harm anyone your religion is now dangerous.

What do you believe? If you believe that God is unconditional love and forgiving then how does hate fit in? You can't love unconditionally and hate anyone so those Christians saying that the LGBTQ community are an abomination, my question is how? If God is unconditional love then God would not consider anyone an abomination.

It makes no sense if you think about it. The other thing that does not make sense to me is hell. Why would there be a hell when God is unconditional love and all forgiving?  Again, if God is ALL forgiving and loving who would be sent to hell? Do you question if your church preaches that it's your duty to hate homosexuals or psychics or energy healers or anything that your church does not believe in? My question is why is the church so fearful? So weak?

I know many great Christians, people that when you know them and see their acts of kindness you know they follow God's heart. I know many great Christian churches, but there are many cultish churches popping up all over and those churches scare me.

These are the churches that claim they are bible based, but seem to only take the parts of the bible that give them permission to judge, condemn, and hate. These are the ‘christians’ who scream that America is a Christian nation. These are the ‘christians’ who are loud and threatening. These are the Christians who are making our countries laws and taking away human rights based on what they personally believe. These people are dangerous.

I recently saw a video that is going around Facebook. It is a young woman, late 20's I think, telling people that demons are hiding behind mental illness. According to her there is no such thing as mental illness, that anyone who demonstrates signs of mental illness is possessed by demons and needs to be treated biblically not medically.

THIS is dangerous religion. She has quite a following and from the notes many are agreeing with her, so what happens now if people start grabbing mentally ill people so they can exercise them within the church? She is creating another witch hunt and it is dangerous.

God is spirit, energy - God does not have a physical body nor does God have an ego. Think about that. The bible demonstrates a very egotistical God. One that demands your love and obedience otherwise you face being condemned to a fiery hell. This makes no sense if you truly look into who or what God is. God is pure energy, pure love - there is no judgement, no ego, no hate, or anger. God is not human and does not want to be feared nor does he/she/it want you to love them because of fear.

God calls for all of us to bring his/her/its love and light to all people. Not just the people you think are deserving or worthy, but to ALL people. Whatever religion you practice is YOUR religion it is not mine. Your religion dictates how you are supposed to live, it does not dictate how I am supposed to live - that is between me and whatever God exists.

So, if your church is telling you it is ok to hate, if your church is telling you it is ok to bully and harass I beg of you to please check in with your own heart and soul and ask yourself how does that feel to you? Does it feel godly to you? Has your religion/church become dangerous to others?

I have no problem with whatever religion people practice, but I do have problem if you are using your beliefs to bully others and justify the cruelty we are seeing in this world. Because guys this is NOT God!

My hope this week is just to get people to think and question. To question their church leaders if they are preaching hate and fear. Question your own behaviors and beliefs. We all need some soul searching these days and I pray that humans will truly begin to treat each other with God's love and light!

May you all receive the many blessings the Universe holds for each of us and may those blessings bring you peace and may you bring that peace to everyone around you.
