Happy Sunday Everyone! This e-news is not an easy topic and will probably make many uncomfortable. This week I want to talk about death and dying. I have been seeing many older folks who as they get closer to their end here on earth are becoming fearful. I hate that people feel fearful about death for it is the most natural thing you can do besides being born.
But the reason this is coming up this week is recently I had the pleasure of meeting with a 94 year old woman who has great faith but a lot of fear about dying. When I asked her what she believed about death I couldn't blame her for feeling fearful. She truly believes in a harsh judgement and that she will be going to hell for the mistakes she has made in her life.
So I asked her if we could talk about these so called mistakes and as we did she discovered these weren't mistakes, but lessons she was meant to learn and boy did she learn them. I also asked a few questions about her God such as is her God all loving and all forgiving to which she replied “absolutely!” My next question then caused her to pause and think - my question was if God is all loving and all forgiving then what do you have to fear?
All of sudden she wasn't sure anymore why she was so scared. We talked about the dying process and what happens to the body and soul. We talked about how no one dies alone for our loved ones always come to help us transition from this life to home.
My question to you all this week is do you fear death? And if so why? Death is nothing more than you returning home until your next adventure in physical form. People get concerned when I say things like “I can't wait to die.” They take this statement as me being suicidal which is far from the truth for I love my life here and love my purpose. But the idea of going home to rest and see loved ones again is exciting to me.
Will I grieve what I leave in this life and the people in my life sure - all souls grieve, but I also know it's different than grieving here on this plane. Death should not be something to fear, it should be looked at as your reward for a job well done. Death says you did it, you finished everything you wanted to learn in this lifetime, you served your purpose and you now deserve to come home. Sometimes are purpose here is brief and this is why children transition early. They only signed up for a brief stay.
My family has always thought of me as a freak or weird or eccentric - to name a few things they have called me. But it always shakes them up when I get a call that someone passed away for my response isn't “I am sorry” my response is “Good for them.” I see death as something that should be celebrated just like a birth.
So what is your perspective of death? Do you need to change your perspective? If you fear death what is it that you fear? Do you fear suffering? Do you fear “judgement day?” Do you fear Hell? What is the fear that surrounds death for you?
When we see our loved ones transitioning it can look scary to us. It can look like they are in pain and suffering, but I want to assure you they are not. What you are witnessing is the physical body releasing the soul, but our loved ones are not suffering. Death doesn't always look peaceful to us, but it really is.
Death is not to be feared or seen as a punishment, death should be embraced and celebrated. Yes we miss those who leave before us, but even though they are not in physical form anymore they are still very much a part of lives. And even when you leave you will still be part of your loved one's lives.
I hope this article will help you to change your perspective of death and help you to see that death is not the enemy to run away from, it is the parent come to take you home!
