Scoping visit to Kengtung, Myanmar |
“Upon entering the Shan State, we arrived at an economic hub - modern, lively, and bustling with transport, trade, exchange, buying and selling, and a blend of cultures. Many questions arose along the way: Why are the roads built so poorly? Where is the hospital and the school? Why don’t children in this village go to school?” |

Girls dormitory construction |
Kung Jor began construction of their girl's dormitory shortly after the New Year. The adjacent temple provided them with use of the land and a special thanks to ven. Ponyum Sunim's organisation JTS for providing the building expenses. This dormitory is much needed and timely, as Kung Jor remains a key refuge for families sending their children to seek safety from ongoing conflict in Shan State, with demand for accommodation continuing to grow. |
