The Monthly Reset
March always feels rejuvenating to me. After the long, inward pull of winter—the season of rest, reflection, and quiet reset—I can sense something gently stirring. In somatic experiencing, winter isn’t a setback; it’s restoration. It’s the nervous system recalibrating, conserving energy, doing quiet, essential work underneath the surface. And now spring invites us to plant new seeds—but without urgency, without force.
The Lunar New Year carries this energy of renewal too. Whether you resonate with the steady strength of the “Year of The Horse” or you are still shedding layers of last years “Year of The Snake”, it's an invitation to release what no longer fits—softly, compassionately. Shedding doesn’t happen on command. Growth doesn’t respond to pressure. Even in nature, we cannot pry open a bud before it's ready and expect it to bloom.
So I want to ask you:
If you planted one gentle seed this month, what would it be?
Where in your body do you feel ready to stretch—and where do you feel the need for more support?
What would change if you trusted your nervous system to set the pace?
Seasons shift in their own time and so do our bodies. Seeds sprout when the soil is ready and do new ideas. What if this month wasn’t about pushing yourself forward—but about tending the ground beneath you and allowing what’s meant to bloom to emerge naturally?
