Look at me batting 100, doing 3 newsletters in 3 weeks!
 
Again, I must tell you, don't be alarmed if I go missing for a week or two because life is crazy! But I promise I will try to do this every week!
 
I didn't do a ton of cooking last week because I'm trying to drop the TWELVE pounds I've gained since Thanksgiving. When I need to drop a few pounds, I do a couple 500-calorie days and everybody else gets to eat from the freezer (which ain't too bad around here!).
 
But here's what my week looked like!
 
 
Super Bowl Shanks
Behold the queen, Crookshanks (Shanks for short). She thinks every fluffy surface in the house was put there just for her and gets really comfy whenever and wherever she feels like it! In this case, it was my lap during the game.
Excuse the mess, we live here :o)
 
 
ALSO TUESDAY…
Sending my boy off to college to play baseball has been like cutting an arm off. I never missed a game in 14 years. Through high school, I was the mom that brought all the team meals, got hugs from all the boys I'd watched grow up and cheered them all on at every game. 
 
And then WHAM-O, he's 4 hours away and I'm lucky to go to handful of games a season.
 
But I watch online! This was what I was doing while typing up the Italian bread recipe post!
 
 
 
 
That's Week #3 in the books!
 
I asked y'all last week for suggestions about what you'd like to see on the blog and have received HUNDREDS of great ideas so THANK YOU!
 
Please don't think anything bad if you reply and I don't respond (I may still!). I promise, I am reading every single email you send! I'm trying to keep up with responses but there just aren't enough hours in the day sometimes, ya know?
 
And don't worry that I'm on some crazy diet! Of all the things I've tried through the years, the one that works best for me to drop a few pounds quickly is to pick 2 days week (not consecutive) and only have 500 calories on those days. I lost 5 of the 12 pounds I'd gained over the winter holidays this week and hope to knock out the other 7 in the next two weeks!
 
I'm a big gal who has no dreams of wearing a bikini or being slim. I have a weight that I like to stay at, that allows me to eat joyously and still feel good, and I just need to get back to it!
