It's been a huge few weeks of book news and book announcements, it's hard to keep up! 
 
Check out the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards 2026 Finalists. Winners will be announced on May 13th.

The Women's Prize for Fiction longlist is here, featuring some great Time Out bestsellers from the past year. The shortlist will be announced April 23rd (NZDT) and the winner will be announced June 12th (NZDT).

….and the International Booker Prize longlist (for books translated into English) has also been announced, featuring a lot of new titles to add to our reading piles. The shortlist will be announced on April 1st (NZDT) and the winner will be announced May 20th (NZDT).

We held off this newsletter, so we can include a link to May's Auckland Writers Festival 2026. The programme is absolutely packed and includes many authors that have been on our bestseller lists. We can't wait!
 
Jenna will be chairing two author sessions this year. First, talking to Maria Reva about her book, Endling, and then talking to Lily King about her novel, Heart the Lover. Tickets go on sale this Friday and you can pick up the programme in store.

Rachel is both a library assistant and a bookseller - the best of both worlds! She has a degree in English Literature.  
 
Amelie is a school student and is our Saturday evening bookseller. She loves to read literary fiction, classics, and horror.
