Our lives and our work are full of paradoxes!

How do I take care of myself while also caring for others?

How do I plan for a great meeting and then, when the people show up, stay flexible and responsive to their needs?

How do I support one group with their goals while also staying true to the goals of the larger organization?

Paradoxes can feel overwhelming, and sometimes they feel like conflict. Our brains like to simplify things and see the "either/or." We can also invite our brains to see the "both/and"!

A Next Step
This week, notice when you feel stuck between two competing priorities. Pause and ask yourself: "What if both of these things could be true? What would that look like?" Write down what comes to mind. You might be surprised by the new possibilities that emerge when you give yourself permission to hold both.
