Sam finished reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson (only 10+ years after buying it on a friend's recommendation) and My First Five Husbands…And The Ones Who Got Away by Rue McClanahan on this trip. She loves to read. These trips always include a little musing about how much she values public land and public libraries.

 

When we got home, we attended a memorial/celebration of life for a childhood friend of Nathan's who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the week before. It was an awful reason to get together with friends, but it was ultimately lovely to see so many of them, some of whom came from out of town, many of whom we hadn't seen in a while. Some of those friends have written some really excellent words to pay tribute to and remember Dan, and Nathan joined in. We're back to work now, planning photoshoots, designing program booklets, and building websites. 

 

And remembering to tell the ones we love that we love them while we still can.
