🌿 March 2026 – Light Rising, Life Returning 🌞
March arrives as a threshold month — a luminous turning point between winter’s inward hush and spring’s courageous emergence. Each morning the light lingers a little longer; each evening the sky softens more slowly into dusk. There is a palpable quickening in the air.
In woodland and hedgerow, renewal becomes visible. Tender green buds unfurl along branches. At ground level, camellias, hellebores, daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and fragrant daphne lift their heads in quiet celebration. Even where recent winter storms have toppled great trees across the UK landscape, nature wastes no time in restoring balance. Fresh saplings will soon rise to fill the space — a living testament to resilience, regeneration and hope.

⚔️ Ancient Beginnings & Sacred Feminine Power
In the earliest Roman calendar, the year began in March — a fitting commencement for a month that embodies movement, vitality and forward momentum. It was named for Mars, deity of action and courage.
To the Anglo-Saxons, however, March was Hrēðmonath, honouring the goddess Hreða (also known as Rheda), a fertility figure whose presence reflects the season’s life-affirming pulse.
The month opens with Saint David on 1st March, alongside the Roman festival of Matronalia, celebrating matrons and motherhood. Indeed, March is richly threaded with feminine reverence — from International Women's Day (8th) to Mothering Sunday (15th), as well as numerous Egyptian and Roman goddess commemorations throughout the month.
Ireland marks 17th March with Saint Patrick, another celebration of cultural and spiritual heritage.
March, therefore, carries a dual current: the assertive fire of Mars and the generative power of the Sacred Feminine — action guided by wisdom, strength softened by compassion.

🌳 In Nature: Renewal in Practice
Our Nature Connection / Forest Bathing gathering takes place on Saturday 21st March at the Harry Edwards Foundation in Shere, Surrey — a perfect time to immerse ourselves in the forest’s awakening and attune to the season’s subtle intelligence.
As always, deeper reflections on each festival and spiritually significant day are explored in individual blog posts published on the day itself. You are warmly invited to subscribe for blog update alerts if you would like these insights delivered directly to your inbox.

🌕 Lunar Alignments
The Full Moon peaks on Tuesday 3rd March at 11:37. This month’s online Full Moon Guided Meditationwill be recorded, allowing my registered students (DM me details) to connect at a time that suits your own rhythm.
The Alder Equinox New Moon follows on Thursday 19th March at 01:23 — a potent alignment of lunar renewal with the seasonal equilibrium of the Spring Equinox. This is a powerful moment to recalibrate intentions, restore balance and consciously step into the expanding light.  There will be a live New Moon & Equinox Meditation on 19th March. Book at the Harmony Shop.

March is not simply a calendar month; it is an invitation.
An invitation to rise.
To renew.
To move forward with courage — and with heart.

🏴🌸 Sunday 1st March
St David’s Day & Matronalia
Today carries a beautiful dual current of devotion and feminine honouring.
Wales celebrates Saint David (Dewi Sant), remembered for his humility, monastic foundations and steadfast faith. Legend tells that rather than slaying a troublesome dragon, he listened to its sorrow — a powerful symbol of compassionate leadership.
In Roman tradition, the same date marks Matronalia, sacred to Juno, protectress of women and marriage. Household roles were reversed, matrons hosted feasts, and unions were blessed as symbols of peace and stability.
Together, these observances invite reflection on relationship harmony, spiritual integrity and the strength found in both gentleness and courage.

🌕 Tuesday 3rd March @ 11:37
Ash Worm Full Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse
This potent Full Moon carries eclipse energy, intensifying release and re-patterning. Although the eclipse will not be visible in the UK, its influence is still felt energetically. (For astronomical details, see timeanddate.com.)
The online Full Moon Meditation will be pre-recorded this month (available to registered students — message for details).
The waning phase following the Full Moon is traditionally supportive for gentle detoxification and clearing practices.
➡️ Full timings and additional guidance via the Full Moon link and Blog.
🌊 Thursday 5th March
Ploiaphesia – Festival of the Ship of Isis
Known in Latin as the Navigium Isidis, this ancient Egyptian celebration honoured Isis at the opening of the safe sailing season. A sacred vessel was dedicated and launched, symbolising protection, navigation and divine guidance after winter’s storms.
Described by Apuleius in Metamorphoses (The Golden Ass), the festival invites us to work consciously with water, light, music and flowers — aligning our own course for the months ahead.
Egyptian Deity posters are available in the Harmony Shop.
➡️ Full historical and spiritual insight on the Blog.
🌍 Sunday 8th March
International Women’s Day
Established in 1911, International Women's Day now marks its 115th year of celebrating women’s empowerment worldwide.
The 2026 theme, “Collaboration is key to advancing gender equality,” reminds us that meaningful progress arises through collective action. As Gloria Steinem wisely observed, the movement for equality belongs to all who care about human rights.
A day to honour courage, contribution and shared responsibility in creating lasting change.

⚖️ Sunday 15th March
The Ides of March – Jupiter & Anna Perenna
In Roman tradition, the Ides of March was sacred to Jupiter and to Anna Perenna, spirit of the turning year.
Immortalised in Shakespeare’s warning to Julius Caesar, the date carries themes of fate, transition and completion. Offerings were once made to ensure the successful continuation of the yearly cycle.
A potent moment for reviewing intentions and consciously closing old chapters.
➡️ Deeper historical and spiritual insights on the Blog.
💛 Sunday 15th March
Mothering Sunday aka Mothers' Day (UK)
Observed on the fourth Sunday of Lent, Mothering Sunday honours mothers and maternal figures.
Originally associated with visiting one’s “mother church,” it has evolved into a day of gratitude, often marked with daffodils and thoughtful gestures. Distinct from the American Mother’s Day, this observance remains rooted in the UK’s Christian calendar.
A gentle opportunity to express appreciation, healing and remembrance.
➡️ Read more about the origins and symbolism on the Blog.
☘️ Tuesday 17th March
St Patrick’s Day
Ireland honours Saint Patrick, traditionally credited with restoring Christianity to the land. He is said to have used the shamrock — from the Irish seamróg (“little clover”) — as a teaching symbol for the Trinity.
Beyond its green festivities, this day carries themes of spiritual renewal, teaching and cultural identity — fitting for a month of rebirth and awakening.
➡️ Explore the deeper symbolism and seasonal reflections on the Blog.
🍇 Tuesday 17th March
Liberalia – Roman Coming of Age Festival
Also observed on this date was Liberalia, honouring Liber, marking the transition of boys into manhood.
With its undertones of maturity, responsibility and emergence, Liberalia resonates strongly with the season’s theme of initiation. As the light strengthens, so too does the call to step forward consciously into greater self-expression.
➡️ Historical context and reflections available on the Blog.
🛡️ Thursday 19th March
Quinquatrus – Festival of Minerva
Five days after the Ides, the Romans honoured Minerva at Quinquatrus. Originally an Etruscan spring rite, it became associated with wisdom, crafts, strategy and divination — a day when women often consulted seers and fortune-tellers.
Linked with spring renewal and rites of rebirthing, the festival sits close to the Equinox threshold, echoing ancient themes of wisdom guiding new beginnings.
➡️ Full exploration on the Blog.
🌑⚖️ Thursday 19th March @ 01:23
Alder Equinox New Moon & Spring Meditation
The Alder New Moon arrives at the powerful balance point of the Spring Equinox — when light and dark stand equal before the brightening half of the year unfolds.
Alder, tree of courage and resilience, teaches steadiness amidst emotional currents. Its wood strengthens in water — a potent symbol of growth through challenge.
On the night of this New Moon, we gather for a Spring Equinox Meditation, weaving Alder’s protective energy with Equinox equilibrium and the ancient Egyptian resonance of Pelusia. Through guided inner journeying and gentle ritual, we consciously reclaim strength and step forward aligned and renewed.
➡️ Booking details and full description at Harmony Shop.
Friday 20th March is Spring Equinox at 14:45. On the Equinox, light and dark are equal over the whole world: mark the moment of the Equinox with silence and stillness.
Representing balance of opposites; it's a good time to bring balance into your life.
I'll be offering a special Equilibrium Attunement (£55, half price to RSE & Moon students, included in the Chakra Alignment Module starting 11th March) to help you balance your energies on the Equinox, the day when night and day is equal and the earth herself is in perfect balance.
🔗 See YouTube: What Exactly is an Attunement?
Friday 20th March is also the Egyptian Festival of Pelusia, with the Egyptian Goddess Isis working her spring magic to ensure the flooding of the Nile later in the year, thereby guaranteeing a fruitful harvest. There is always an Egyptian Festival coinciding with the Celtic Celebrations.
We have informative Egyptian Deity Posters available for sale from the Harmony Shop.
Saturday 21st March is International Day of Forests, sponsored by the United Nations. The theme for 2026 is Forests and Economies is the theme for the day, celebrating the crucial roles of forests in food security, nutrition and livelihoods.
Forests are home to more that 60,000 tree species; comprising about 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity.
In fact, 1.6 billion people are directly dependent on forests for their shelter, food, medicines, income and energy.  Alarmingly, we are losing around 10 million hectares of global forest annually (the size of Iceland) and this is said to account for 12-20% of greenhouse gas emissions thought to contribute to our climate change.
As a qualified Forest Bathing guide, I am delighted to see Forests being recognised for their wellbeing benefits and valuable biodiversity and efforts being made to protect dwindling international woodlands. Celebrate with us on this day (ssee below).
Saturday 21st March, 11.30am - 2.30pm, Forest Bathing. Celebrate International Day of Forests with us in the Surrey Hills within the lovely private grounds of the Harry Edwards Foundation, Shere.
Usually at this time of the year, the site is carpeted with daffodils. Immerse yourself in the healing elements of nature and connect deeply with all your senses. Spend three hours in the woods mindfully connecting to your surroundings and living fully in the present moment, guided by me in simple sensory exercises and a treelaxtion. A deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience, and which, despite the title forest bathing, does not involve any swimming!
Some of the scientifically proven benefits of spending time in woodland include reduced stress levels, stronger immune system response, and a stabilised cortisol cycle.
💷 £39.77 (+ PayPal fee if not paid by BACS)

🌿 Sunday 29th March
Palm Sunday
In the Christian calendar, Palm Sunday marks the sixth Sunday of Lent and the threshold into Holy Week.
It commemorates the peaceful entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, symbolised by palm branches laid upon the path. Traditionally, riding a donkey signified humility and peace — a conscious contrast to the warlike symbolism of horseback.
A day reflecting humility, transition and the approach of renewal.
