3 moves you can make this week. If you don't have a buyer appointment, practice role playing with a friend.
You don’t need a new script.
You need a new stance.
1️⃣ Decide Before You Sit Down
Before your next buyer consultation, write this:
I am a professional.
My process protects my clients.
I lead. I don’t chase.
Identity first. Tactics second.
2️⃣ Move the Conversation Upstream
If you’re introducing agreements after showing homes, you’re already behind.
Instead…During your consultation, walk them through:
- How you strategize.
- How you negotiate.
- How you protect their money.
- How you advocate for them legally.
Then position the agreement as:
“This is how we formalize working together.”
Normal. Expected. Clean.
3️⃣ Eliminate the Apology Tone
If your language sounds like:
- “They’re making us do this…”
- “It’s required now…”
- “I know it’s annoying…”
You’ve already given away authority.
- Replace it with:
“This is how I work.”
“This protects you.”
“This ensures full representation.”
No drama.
No justification.
No hesitation.
The Bigger Lesson
This isn’t about buyer rep agreements.
It’s about how you respond when the industry says, “This is hard.”
Market slow?
Rates high?
Inventory tight?
Buyers cautious?
Leaders don’t argue with reality.
They adjust.
They elevate.
They execute.
And when someone says, “I can’t get it done,”
They smile and think…
Sorry. Can’t relate.
