This week, our schools engaged in a series of activities that created unforgettable memories for our scholars. From creative lessons to field experiences that can inspire a future career in the arts or sciences, our scholars were busy both inside and outside the classroom. Through every opportunity provided, our hope is to show our scholars what a life worth living looks like.

 

As True North Titans, our scholars learn that a full life is not measured by accolades, but by the impact they have on their community. If they stay true to values and virtues, success will naturally arrive as it will be a byproduct of their efforts. The experiences our scholars encounter encourages them to explore their passions while aligning them with the true, the good, and the beautiful.

Arete Event on Leadership: Jeanette Nunez

We are honored that Florida International University's President and True North Alumni parent, Jeanette Nunez, will be joining us for an Arete Event on Leadership for our Rhetoric School at Sunset. 

 

President Nuñez will share insights on leadership drawn from her experience as the current President of Florida international university (FIU) and her service as Florida’s former Lieutenant Governor and a member of the Florida House of Representatives.

Music and the Art of Foley

Recently, 50 of our music scholars traveled to Universal Studios to participate in an enriching field activity.  

 

The “Music and the Art of Foley” workshop, held in a professional studio inside the park, allowed our scholars to record songs, dialogue, and Foley sound effects for scenes from The Lorax. Through this hands-on experience, they explored the intricate relationship between music, voice acting, and sound design, discovering how these elements unite to shape compelling cinematic storytelling. By transforming ordinary objects into expressive sound effects, students gained a deeper appreciation for the precision, creativity, and teamwork required in professional film production.

 

Thank you to our amazing music teachers, Dr. Virginia Covarrubias, Ms. Cecile Wrves, and Ms. Stephanie Carrasco, for guiding students through this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Titans at the Kennedy Space Center

This week, the first group of 5th grade scholars traveled to the Kennedy Space Center to bring their science studies to life in an unforgettable way. During their visit, our scholars toured the facilities, explored interactive exhibits, witnessed a space launch, and slept beneath the Space Shuttle Atlantis.

 

This trip strengthened their understanding of science and STEM by connecting classroom lessons to real-world experiences. It also sparked a deep level of interest in a future in science and space. This is especially meaningful as the State of Florida is widely known as the Space Capital of our nation, with opportunities along the Space Coast growing exponentially.

Wall's Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop Contest

For the past weeks, our art scholars had their renditions of all things sweet displayed at the legendary Wall's Old Fashion Ice Cream shop. Customers voted on their favorite renditions and selected the winners. These will now be used to help market and promote the business.

2026 True North Gala 

This year, our nation will be celebrating its 250th anniversary! Throughout the year, our schools have been engaging in a series of activities to commemorate this milestone. To continue the year-long celebration, the True North Classical Foundation has chosen “America 250” as the theme for this year’s gala. This theme allows us not only to celebrate the many accomplishments of our school but also to honor our nation.

 

Stay tuned, as the True North Classical Foundation will be unveiling an exciting announcement about this highly anticipated event soon.
