Huh.
I glance at the clock.
I guess it has been almost an hour. But what have I been doing?
Honestly, couldn't tell you. 🤷🏻♀️ Time blindness has struck again.
Time blindness is an inability to recognize how much time has passed or estimate how long something will take.
Everyone experiences this to some degree.
Ever look up from a doom scroll and suddenly it's been an hour?
Or you're hooked on a great book and suddenly it's midnight?
Time blindness is more extreme for some people, often people with ADHD.
So, what do you do about it?
- Being aware of your tendency to have time blindness when doing certain tasks can help.
- Setting alarms or timers for hard stops. Sometimes multiple alarms…
- Make it a game - how fast can you complete x task against a timer? Or what do you “win” when the task is completed? (One of my clients was incentivizing herself with The Pitt season 2 this week.)
I will be utilizing these strategies this week when I update my pinned posts on Instagram.
I can quickly fall into extreme time blindness on Canva. I want everything to be ~just right~.
I'm sharing here for some extra accountability. 👯♀️ What can I help you be accountable with this week?
