Issue #59 | March 2, 2026

Welcome back to Beyond the Tour where twice a month you'll receive practical tips and resources to help you get better at what you do.

Let's get started.

If You Do One Thing This Week:

1. 🔄 Share good cheer.

As enrollment contracts start to come in, let the faculty and staff know. The buzz around newly enrolled students will build excitement interally which will turn into excitement beyond the school walls.

Faculty and staff are key players on the front lines. Letting them know about next year's enrollment is good for everyone.

How to do this: Include an Admission blurb in in the weekly faculty bulletin. Sprinkle in some Admission pixie dust each week to build excitement around next year's students.

2 Tips to DO MORE:

2.  🍔 Be like McDonald's

It's enrollment contract season for everyone, which means many students will not get into their first choice.

There is no shame in being the next best thing.

This week: Choose one target population (one county, one feeder school, one interest group. etc.) and roll out some messaging for them specifically.

⛔ DON'T ASSUME
You are overselling
Families know what to do
That your school looks desperate.

☑️ DO
Place your school right in front of them when they need another choice.
Tell them what problem you solve for them and what their next step should be.

McDonald's has over a billion burgers sold, and they're still telling you to buy their burgers.

Be like McDonald's.

Get out there in front of customers when they are hungry.

3. 🛜 Use your network wisely.

Send a simple, intentional nudge to your alumni: invite them to share your school with a friend.

Even if they no longer live nearby, they are still connected. They have colleagues, neighbors, family, college friends, someone who might be looking for exactly what your school offers.

Try language like:
“Help another child experience the kind of childhood you had.”

Make it easy for them to pass along a link, attend an open house, or introduce you directly.

Your alumni are not just memories, they are ambassadors.
Ask them to spread the good word.
