March is Women's History Month and a time to recognize the strength, perseverance, and leadership of women in our community and throughout history. Britepaths is honored to support women who are building brighter futures for themselves and their families every day, even on days that feel overwhelming. Pictured below is Angela, a Financial Empowerment client and grandmother raising her grandchildren, who received a Womenade grant to help cover rent during a difficult transition between homes. Managing expenses at both her former and new residences placed a significant financial strain on her. After receiving the grant, Angela shared:
We celebrate women like Angela and the contributions of women past and present
this month.

Britepaths is seeking a Workforce Development Manager to lead and support our job-readiness and career programs. This role includes one-on-one client coaching, supervising volunteers, and overseeing our Network Up mentoring program. As workforce needs continue to grow across our region, we are seeking a candidate passionate about economic mobility, relationship-building, and creating meaningful pathways to employment.
For nearly 15 years, Stuff the Bus has been a vital way for the community to come together by stocking local food pantries and supporting neighbors who are struggling. We hope you will consider donating on March 14 and helping us make a difference for local families.
Secret garden testimonial national reading month
In celebration of March as National Reading Month, we would like to share a story from The Secret Garden at Britepaths, our in-office book nook where children and teens aged 18 and under can select free books to take home.
Recently, Talia, a client of our Financial Empowerment program, visited The Secret Garden with her two children, ages 2 and 6. She chose three books for them to take home and remarked,
“This will help [my children] read more and open their curiosity.”
The Secret Garden serves as a space where families in our community can instill a love of reading in their children and foster learning at home. Through The Secret Garden, we can create opportunities for learning, imagination, and shared family experiences, creating a ripple effect that lasts beyond a single visit.
