Wolly Paints Again 

Do you remember the vintage “A Surprise for Mrs. Bunny” book? It was first published in 1945 with several reprintings since then. I know this because my siblings and I had a copy back in the ‘70s.

 

That copy has since been written in, torn, and most of the pages are missing. (I’m looking at you, Bob.) However, I found a clean(er) copy on eBbay and it has inspired me to create several collages using copies of the book pages.

This one reimagines one of Mrs. Bunny’s creative offspring at work. It seems Wolly has moved away from blues and is now using a color palette of greens.

While my collages (or Wolly's paintings) are probably not considered “fine art,” they are sure fun to make. 🙂

Inspiration Everywhere

When researching the “Earth” element for my Four Elements series, I came across the Art of Soil. They create eco-friendly, soil-based art supplies to share and support the beauty and importance of soil. Such a unique concept and the colors are so juicy! 🎨

 

“Yes please!” to this expedition alongside a team of National Geographic Experts. Locations include 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites - from Easter Island to the Great Barrier Reef. It's out of my price range, but fun to think about! 🌍

 

Have you heard of an assassin’s teapot? It is designed with two separate chambers and hidden air holes on the handle. By covering one of the holes, the user controls which chamber pours, allowing one liquid (tea) to be served to a friend and another (poison) to an enemy from the same spout. As I am somewhat directionally challenged (and for other reasons) this one's not for me! ☕
