My mom always tells me “if only we'd been born rich instead of beautiful”.
I like shopping.
I loved a back-to-school shopping trip at Limited Too. I loved the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
But after I entered my stay-at-home (now work from home!) mom era, I had to reevaluate my hobby.
I have a cute little budget
spreadsheet and I know where every dollar goes.
Part of figuring out where each dollar goes was really looking at what we were regularly paying for.
I have tracked down every $3.99 charge from Apple (WHY are they all separate charges?!).
I know exactly what subscriptions we have and I found a few to cancel or pause.
In a subscription based world, it's so easy to sign up for something then forget to cancel. Almost like they do that on purpose 🙃
This happens in your business, too.
You get shiny system syndrome and try a new project management tool.
Maybe there's a 30 day trial then you're automatically charged.
The email that your trial is about to end gets buried in your inbox.
Your card is charged and now you have yet another subscription.
Or you sign up for some kind of software, your business changes and you never cancel.
This happened to one of my clients. She has collected subscriptions like it's her hobby.
And my hobby has been to figure out what she's actually using then cancel the others.
