At our school, we work tirelessly to ensure that our scholars grow both inside and outside the classroom. While in the classrooms they are exposed to a rigorous curriculum and study the great books. Beyond it, they are formed as individuals through virtues and qualities. Our goal is to cultivate scholars who are not only wise, but seek to do good.

 

Last week was filled with activities that supported this growth. From our annual Student Symposium to an engaging Arete seminar on leadership, our scholars’ development was both encouraged and recognized

2026 Rhetoric School Student Symposium

Last week, our Rhetoric School held its annual student symposium. The topic for this year's symposium was the virtue of courage.

 

Throughout the symposium, scholars attended special assemblies, participated in Socratic discussions on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, engaged in thoughtful conversations with their peers and also had an afternoon of Raising Cane's and fellowship.

 

Courage is the strength to face adversity and act rightly despite challenges. It is one of True North's pillar virtues. These pillar virtues are at the heart of everything we do, as our goal is not only to form lifelong learners, but also individuals who are grounded in the good and align their purpose with their beliefs.

True North Arete Presents: 

President Jeanette Nunez, 

True North Classical Academy's Arete Program invited Florida International University (FIU)'s President and proud True North alumni mom, Jeanette Nunez to lead a panel on leadership.

 

During her panel, President Nunez shared insights on leadership drawn from her experience as the current President of FIU and her service as Florida's former Lieutenant Governor and a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Additionally, President Nunez encouraged our scholars to cement themselves in virtue. As a proud Titan parent, she highlighted the importance of pursuing goodness and living a life rooted in virtue.

 

President Nunez ended her panel with a Q&A session where she shared words of wisdom with our scholars. She also extended an invitation to our scholars to visit FIU's for a VIP tour.

Give Miami Day:

Sodium Explosion Challenge

On #GiveMiamiDay, Dr. Galopin challenged his students to help him raise $6,022 -- a nod to Avogadro's number. If he reached his goal, he committed to showcasing a sodium explosion.

 

During our student symposium, Dr. Galopin fulfilled his promise and hosted a sodium explosion in the amphitheater of our Sunset Campus. 

Thank you to everyone who donated to his individual fundraiser, supported our school, and helped make this fun science experience possible. 

We the People Art Exhibition

Five of our True North art scholars have been selected a finalists for the “We the People” Art Exhibition, a special exhibition celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

2026 True North Gala Ticket Sales

Table and Individual ticket sales for the 2026 True North Gala are now open!

 

Gala is True North Classical Foundation's final and largest event of the year, where our community comes together to fundraise on behalf of our school. Throughout the event, there is dancing, laughter, an upscale dinning experience, and a lively silent and live auction.
