Decide. Design. Delight.
(The reason your Canva files feel chaotic)

Hello again 👋

If my early days of live Canva demos taught me anything, it's that design can feel difficult when there’s too much happening at once. When every element on the page is editable, your brain is constantly deciding what not to touch while you’re trying to focus on certain elements.

That’s where this simple designer habit makes a big difference:

🔒 Lock Your Layers

Pros automatically lock backgrounds, shapes, frames, and structural elements before we start editing. Then we only interact with the elements that actually need attention. This little trick removes visual noise and makes your file far easier to think inside.

To lock your selected element(s), right click and apply the lock function.

Instead of accidentally dragging a background or nudging a frame out of place, you’re free to focus on your text, images, or the message you’re trying to communicate. It’s a small shift, but it creates a calmer, more controlled design environment.

Tip Tuesday takeaway:
When fewer elements are editable, your design space becomes clearer, and clarity makes better decisions possible.

What my clients have to say:

creative + RELIABLE + ATTENTIVE
Melissa’s creativity, reliability, and attention to detail made the entire process seamless. She expanded on the examples I provided, delivering slide templates in three color schemes that added consistency and flow to my presentations. I look forward to using her services again for future projects!
