Happy Sunday Everyone! This week I want to talk about Spring and rebirth. I don't know about all of you but this Winter seemed darker and heavier to me, maybe because of what's going on in our world.
I went into a spiritual hibernation this winter. What does this mean exactly? Well for me I went into isolation mode, socializing only when necessary. My spirit needed to rest and boy did it ever.
But as we approach Spring I feel myself waking up (no better way to describe it) from a long winter's nap. I find myself having a little more energy and having a really strong desire to reconnect to my spiritual practices.
However, this Spring feels different to me, it feels like it is a time for reconciliation in my life. Looking at the harm I caused either through words or actions or worse lack of action. In recovery we work steps to help ourselves get better but more importantly to help ourselves to accept accountability for our lives and actions.
In Step 4 we make a list of those we caused harm to and then Step 5 we make amends wherever possible. I find myself looking at my inventory and seeing where I fell short with myself and others. Seeing where I may have caused harm without meaning too. Do you ever take an inventory? And if so how do you take accountability?
Because Spring always makes me think of rebirth I am finding myself looking at how I am being reborn and transformed. Recently a friend who is a psychic/medium told me that he was told to ask me from Spirit if I am open and willing to accept what I need to do. I laughed and first said well that depends, what do they mean? Followed by a yes, I am open to whatever direction I am being led. My friend then said he was told I will be going through a soul expansion, but he did not get an explanation as to what that met. To be honest I am still unclear as to the meaning of that as well even though I have been trying to listen.
So, this Spring I am giving birth to a new comfort zone, working on accepting invitations I would normally say no to like being asked to join a radio show. After saying no several times I finally accepted and will be on the local radio show “Mind Body Soul” with Meggen Wright.
Most people know me and know that I am not a public figure or person nor do I want to be, so when I was first asked to do the show I panicked. It only took Meggen to ask me almost five times for me to cave and say yes. Now that I said yes I feel energy shifting and know that I made the right choice.
It seems funny that at 60, almost 61 I am finding rebirth in my life and it's exciting and scary, but I am looking forward to what other new things Spring will bring.
