Woohoo, your Simple Hospitality FUN MAIL has arrived! đŹ
Â
Â
Â
Hi First name / friend,
Â
Happy March! This month has been filled with so many wonderful reminders that simple hospitality truly does ripple outward in ways we may never expect.
Â
Before I jump in, if you happened to receive a âwelcomeâ email from me recently and youâve been here for a while, please forgive the mix-up â we had a little glitch on our end! đ
Â
Â
A few weeks ago, I had the joy of speaking at a MomCo gathering at our daughter Annaâs church in Atlanta, with about 125 moms with preschool aged children. What a gift it was to spend the morning with so many thoughtful, kind young moms.
Â
Anna shared a beautiful devotional on friendship, hospitality, and kindness, and we reflected together on this verse:
Â
âDo not get neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.â
Hebrews 13:2
Â
It was such a special time of encouragement and conversation. I even had the opportunity to SURPRISE đ them with a copy of Simple Hospitality for each of the moms who attended, which was such a joy for me. I told them, âyou are my people!!â :)Â
I have always loved young moms.
Â
If you are one of the new friends joining our Fun Mail newsletter from MomCo â welcome! Iâm so glad youâre here and it was such a treat to meet you!
Â
One of the most meaningful parts of sharing this message has been the handwritten notes and emails people have sent after learning about the book. They truly mean so much to me.
Â
If something resonated with you from that morning, I would love to hear. Just hit reply and share what encouraged you most. đ
Here are a few fun pictures from the day below, and alink to my Instagram reel with some additional pictures and even a video from the words I shared.

Â
Â
One thing I shared is that I think we should all try and be âFun Moms!â :) I love that our daughter Anna last week made green eggs and ham for her family for dinner because thatâs what her children were learning about in preschool for Dr. Seuss Week!Â
Â
Sometimes we can just take inspiration from what our kids are already doing at school and find a fun way to bring it home with us. An important thing to remember is: you will know your children as adults a lot longer than when they are little. It doesnât take much to make childhood special.Â

Simple Spring Hospitality Ideas
Spring is one of my favorite seasons to practice simple hospitality. Everything feels fresh and hopeful again.
Â
Here are a few easy ideas you might try this month:
Â
đˇ Leave a small bouquet of flowers on a neighborâs porch from the florist, farmerâs market or Trader Joeâs
Â
â Invite a friend for a simple morning coffee & walkÂ
Â
đ Send a handwritten note to someone who may need encouragementÂ
Â
đ Drop off muffins or fresh fruit for a friend (recently heard this is a great idea for a new mom rather than a whole meal - You could cut up some berries, share some pre-made chicken salad & pimento cheese. Easy to snack on and great for their toddlers to snack on, too!)
Â
đź Set your table with clippings or flowers from your yard
One of my favorite traditions to share is sending âFun Mail.â You know, the type of letters you get in the mail that you can't wait to open! It's why we named this monthly newsletter Fun Mail after all!
Â
In this blog post, I share an idea for writing 52 letters throughout the year to friends, family members, teachers, and neighbors. Why wait until January for a new tradition?! We can start now!
Â
These small notes of encouragement have a way of creating connection that lasts far beyond the moment and bring joy not only to the receiver, but to yourself as well!
I have a very special new shop to share with you this monthâŚ
MEND Coffee & Goods in Atlanta is now carrying Simple Hospitality! ââ¨
Â
The story behind this is one of those moments where you can see God's timing so clearly.
Â
A few weeks ago I met Hannah, the head of retail at MEND. She showed me what I can only describe as unreasonable hospitality â welcoming me warmly into their coffee shop and even sending me home with a handwritten card and coffee mug from MEND!
Â
A week later⌠they said YES to carrying my book! We shipped the box out right away and I love that my book has a ânew homeâ at MEND.
Â
The very next day I spoke at MomCo, just down the street, and was able to tell the moms exactly where they could find the book locally for a friend!
Â
The founders of MEND, Katherine & Jay Wolfe, have a beautiful story. Their ministry, Hope Heals, is creating spaces of belonging and community for people of all abilities. Through MEND, they are fostering an ability-inclusive workplace and a welcoming environment where everyone is invited to gather, work, and connect.
Â
It is a beautiful reminder that true hospitality is not just about how we welcome others, but about creating spaces where everyone feels they belong. đ
Â
If youâre in Atlanta, I hope youâll stop by and support them. You are sure to be blessed!! Plus it is one of the most beautiful coffee shops Iâve ever been to and the food and drinks are delicious.Â
Thank you for being part of this community. Your encouragement, emails, and notes truly mean so much to me!
Â
Until next time â
Â
⨠Will you accept this monthâs invitation to spread some simple hospitality?
Â
with gratitude,
P.S. I always love hearing from readers! If youâd like, just hit reply and tell me: What is one small way you showed hospitality this month?Â
Â
