Hi First name / friend,
True story.
My clients were recently traveling in a remote and tricky part of the world at the exact same time as close friends of theirs. Completely unplanned. They realized it when comparing dates before departure and decided to meet up for dinner one night to trade stories from the road.
Same country. Same regions. Same timeframe. Very different trips.
My clients’ journey had been smooth from the start.
Smooth transfers. Wonderful meals. The best guides. Beautiful hotels in exactly the right locations.
Their friends, who had self-planned, unfortunately had a different experience.
Dad loves trip planning. He enjoys the research, likes handling the details, and knows a lot about the region and culture, so he felt confident putting it together.
Thankfully, there was nothing catastrophic, but there were some tough transit issues, lackluster stays, and one logistical miss after another… things that would have been hard for anyone to avoid without the kind of support my clients had. That kind of friction can slowly wear you down when you’re supposed to be soaking in togetherness.
I don't know him personally, but I can guess that he didn't realize that if he had brought in help, he still would have had the joy of planning.
So I'm here to squash a major misconception people have about travel advisors…
We're not here to steal the joy of planning or your decision-making power.
We're here to make sure the fun parts stay fun, and the complicated parts don’t become your problems.
Especially when the trips are more complex.
