Another week in the building has brought steady progress and plenty to be thankful for. Here’s what’s been happening and what’s ahead:
What’s Been Happening
It’s been a straightforward but encouraging week as we continue to see things take shape:
Delran continues to make great progress on the bathrooms in the fellowship hall and 1st floor ADA bathroom. If you haven’t been to the building recently, the rooms are really starting to come together!
We’re incredibly grateful for Huseyn Gulyamov, who has generously offered to help provide a countertop, sink, and faucet for our communion preparation room. A coworker stopped by this week to take measurements. For those who have prepared communion in side rooms—or even bathrooms—this will be such a meaningful upgrade in our new space.
Paul Ash has been working through the plan for what needs to be in place beneath the stage before the top goes on. Those plans are coming together, and we’re hopeful to give Delran the green light soon to move forward with the next step.
Kim Clement has offered to help organize weekday painting volunteers as we begin tackling the long list of finish painting needs!
Design Team Update
The design team continues to meet weekly to keep up with decisions that need to be made to move things along. Here are a few highlights from this week:
After looking at three options that the painter sampled on the ceiling for us in the fellowship hall, the team decided on "iron ore." It's a very dark gray, almost black.
Carpet for the lobby and the sanctuary is dark neutral with underlying green tones. The lobby carpet is a different product, but we were able to find colors that we think will blend nicely. The stage carpet will be a slightly darker warm brown.
We are narrowing down bathroom countertops and stall dividers. Delran has selected the materials we will use to stay within budget, but the countertop material comes in over 300 finishes and there are 48 colors of bathroom stalls from which to choose. So many choices!
Other things we chose this week were lightbulbs for the sanctuary, bathroom fixtures (soap, towel, toilet paper, etc), and the kitchen door finish as it is a different door than the others in the fellowship hall.
Save the Dates: Upcoming Work Days
More work days are coming up, and we’d love to have you join us:
March 28th: 9am–1pm
April 11th: 9am–1pm
April 25th: 9am–1pm
More details on what to expect will be shared as each date gets closer, but these days truly make a meaningful difference in moving the project forward.
We’re grateful to be in this together and to see God’s provision through both big milestones and everyday faithfulness.
