straight from the heart
💛
a very simple practice to reduce stress

Hi First name / lovely,

What follows comes straight from the heart.

Lately, we’ve felt a growing sense of disconnection from the wellness industry. Not from you - hell no - but from the noise that surrounds it.

All the ‘quick fix’ shit that promises you a better life. Better skin. Better body. Better sleep.
It can feel overwhelming, right?
  • The ‘’skin-perfecting’’ powders pushed on us by savvy marketing, tapping into every insecurity.
  • The so-called gut-repairing elixirs barely making a difference, especially if you don't already have a balanced diet.
  • The on-demand class apps that promises you can transform your body in 12 days (firstly, we don’t need transforming, and secondly, 12 days, are you kidding??!)
  • The anti-ageing creams that make your wrinkles disappear overnight. Be proud of those wrinkles, every line in your face once was a smile, the more wrinkles the better!
On top of that, the world feels very heavy right now, and the future sometimes seems uncertain.

So, sitting down to plan the next year of retreats has felt uncomfortable. While we’re mapping out beautiful journeys, there are people around the world being forced into very different ones.

And in the middle of all this noise, taking care of yourself can feel like a mammoth task.

But wellness and self-care was never meant to be this complicated. Or this frustrating.

So before we share our full retreat calendar for the next 18 months (yep, there's more retreats coming your way in the next few weeks!), and before we dive deeper into how we believe there is no such thing as a quick fix (and we hand you sustainable solutions instead!) we wanted to offer you something simple.

Something you can start today.
No movement. No recipes. No on-demand videos.
Just one small, powerful practice.

It’s something we come back to again and again - especially when the outside world feels loud.
it's called ahimsa
One of our favourite Yoga philosophies.

Technically, Ahimsa translates to “non-violence,” and it’s the first of the Yamas (ethical guidelines) - which are part of the Eight Limbs of Yoga described by Patanjali.

But we like to think of it more simply: Kindness.

Kindness towards yourself, and kindness towards others -  in your actions, your thoughts, and your words.

Because really…
  • How often do you criticise yourself?
  • How often do you judge others?
  • How often do your thoughts turn negative - about those wrinkles, your day-to-day, the news, friends?
And…
  • Can you choose something more nurturing instead?
  • Could you meet yourself with more compassion?
  • Offer a little more understanding to your partner, your friends, your family - and dare we say, the influencers, selling skin-perfecting powders.. remembering that you never fully know what someone else is carrying, and that we all need to make a living somehow.
Notice your words, your thoughts, your actions, your RE-actions.

Pause before you criticise yourself. Choose kindness when speaking to - and about - others. Breathe before reacting.

Kindness doesn’t have to be grand - it’s in the little moments, the simple choices.

And how does this translate into wellness, we hear you ask?

Because the more you practice kindness, the lighter the world feels, not because the world has changed, but because you have. And the lighter it feels, the less stress you will experience. In your body, in your mind, in your nervous system.

In a world that often feels heavy, and inundated with noise, kindness is the most powerful movement we can make.
… AND WHILE YOU (hopefully) PRACTICE AHIMSA

We'll continue to work on our retreat calendar.

Thank you if you have already Expressed Your Interest in some of our upcoming getaways.

We plan to share the full calendar with you in the next weeks, with the November retreat going live just before we fly out for our Tropical in Thailand getaway. We know we said there would be no further in-person events this year, but we just had to book this venue… It's gorgeous.

Whether you’re joining us in person or cheering from afar, this community is what makes every retreat possible.

thank you
