what's the difference between a scissor and A razor haircut?

Both of these haircuts are bobs.
The one on the right was cut with scissors for a straight, blunt effect.
The one on the left was cut with a razor for a soft, airy, lived-in effect.

Hey First name / beautiful,

If you've ever had a great haircut, you know the difference in how your hair feels in comparison to when you've had an okay haircut. Your hair just loves it. It grows out easily and beautifully, and you never have to fight it, because it just sits so well

Scissors and razors are simply tools we use to create the desired effect. Every hair is an individual piece of art and no two haircuts are ever the same. Neither tool is superior to the other; in most cases I use both tools on the same haircut for the best effect.

In case you were wondering, though, here are the main differences:

✂️ SCISSOR CUTS
  1. Blunt ends. Think straight, blunt bob. Scissors cut straight lines, so this is the best option for precision haircuts.
  2. Excellent for compromised, damaged hair.
  3. Also great for very thin, fine hair to add structure and density to the ends.
  4. Scissors cut the hair straight, without much movement.
  5. Adding texture and movement requires more precision and time.
  6. More technical, less visual. 🗡️
⚔️ RAZOR CUTS
  1. Softer, pointier ends like V's to every hair piece, creating movement, texture and breathing room.
  2. Removes weight and length at the same time.
  3. Very fast and efficient.
  4. Beautiful grow out.
  5. Great for lived-in looks, regardless of length. You can have a razor cut on long, medium, short, or pixie haircuts. Perfect for natural textures.
  6. More visual, like painting, less technical. 🖌️

✨ PRODUCT OF THE MONTH ✨
SHINE SPRAY (ANY BRAND BUT I DO LOVE COLOR WOW)
I'm a sucker for a good shine spray.
It's basically a finishing shine serum that's misted onto the hair at the very end of your styling routine to add shine.
You don't have to touch your hair at all.
It's not the same as running an oil through your ends because you don't have to disturb your finished style AND it just makes hair sparkle ✨
