March is National Reading Month, a time to recognize the role reading plays in everyday life.
As you read this newsletter, consider a simple fact we rarely even think about…the ability to read. For countless adults, reading is not always accessible, and the journey to literacy can be long and challenging. At Aspire, that impact shows up every day in the progress our adult learners make.
At our recent SEE Recognition Ceremony, students celebrated their advancement through the program, marking meaningful milestones in their learning.
Many adults in Aspire’s programs have faced challenges with reading that began early and were never fully addressed. Aspire’s Sequential English Education (SEE) program is designed for adults who need a different approach, offering small classes and a structured, multisensory method that helps students build skills step by step.
Over time, those skills lead to real, everyday changes. Students read to their children, complete forms independently, and move forward with greater confidence at work and in their communities. Stronger reading skills also make it easier for parents to support their children’s education, creating a lasting impact within families.
If you know someone who could benefit from Aspire’s Adult Reading Program, we encourage you to
share this opportunity. And if you are looking for a meaningful way to get involved, volunteering with Aspire is a powerful way to support adult learners as they build new skills and confidence.
