Good morning, friend! I had a good week and sure hope you did too! Go get your coffee and let's catch up!
 
What do y'all think about this? I'm going to make my Coca-Cola cake for the blog this week and am thinking of putting a little spin on it. You know how old-timers would put peanuts in their coke? I'm going to add chopped roasted peanuts to my icing as a nod to that old custom. My icing is similar to the pour-on icing I put on my Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake (which I sometimes add chopped pecans to) so I know it will work. What do you think? Obviously you could leave them out, but I thought it would be a fun twist!

BATMAN? IS THAT YOU?
Look at this poor child of mine! He broke his nose at practice (took a wild ball to the face when he was stretching) and had to pitch with this thing on. He was NOT happy but his sisters sure have had fun with this picture! Good thing he's a good sport and doesn't take himself too seriously!
 
 
 
 
I'm planting today! I've been seeding green beans, scallions, yellow onions and grape tomatoes AND prepping seed potatoes and sweet potato slips (gonna take the easy road and buy tomato, cucumber and herb plants) and I am TICKLED to be getting them in the ground today! Y'all pray with me that the weatherman is right and we're not going to have another hard frost here!
