Something I hear from my students, friends, and readers all the time is: I just need more discipline.

And I understand the feeling deep in my core. That sense that if you could just try harder, wake up earlier, be a little more focused, everything would click into place. Every ounce of effort would be easeful and worth it.

But I don’t actually think that’s the problem. I think the problem is that most people don’t have a place to put their life. They don't have the containers or the systems to suppot the art they so desparately want to be making.

Ideas float. Tasks pile up. Rituals come and go depending on the day. And then when things fall apart—which they do (thanks Pema)—it feels like a personal failure instead of a structural one.

A system, the way I understand it, is not a strict schedule or a personality overhaul. It’s something much simpler than that.

It’s a place to store what matters to you. A way to check back in. A structure you can return to when your attention drifts or your energy changes.

In this class, we build that together.

We look at your time—where it actually goes. Your space, both physical and digital. Your energy, whether it’s low, medium, or high, all of it counts. And your attention—what gets to matter in the first place.

And we don’t do it in a rigid way. Fuck ridgidity.

We do it in a way that makes room for ADHD, for chronic illness, for grief, for caregiving, for being a human in the world right now.
It doesn’t ask you to be the same person every day.
It expects that you won’t be.

You don’t need to become someone else to have a system that works.

You just need something you can come back to.

If that’s what you’ve been missing, I’d love to have you in the room.

A system should feel like support, not pressure.
Warmly,
Cody
