Welcome to Autism Awareness Month, the month when shit gets weird for neurodiverse folx. We've got the warrior moms being martyrs; we got the infantilizing corporate events; we got the media moments showcasing only people that fit autistic stereotypes; and we got the jeans-wearing sewage-swimmer harping on about vaccines and making our kids normal like him.
I wish it was just April, and not the time that demonstrates how people cannot talk about autism, adhd, and neurodiversity in any chill way. But here we are 😬
So in this issue: actual neurodiverse people talking about living and creating in this world!
