March was a month of milestones at the Big Red Barn Retreat! Our Southern Shuckdown Oyster Roast SOLD OUT, bringing together an incredible group of supporters for a meaningful evening in support of our mission, thank you to everyone who joined us this year!
We also completed our first Transcendental Meditation training of the year, celebrated the graduation of two Warrior PATHH classes, and delivered another Struggle Well training with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Sertoma Club, HDR, and WildeWood Country Club for their incredible donations, and for our Director of Development, John, representing us in Washington, D.C. in support of the Creative Forces grant. Thank you for being part of our community and the impact we continue to make together.
“You can get through anything… it’s only when you’re tested that you experience your own strength for what it truly is.”

Become an Ambassador!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re proud to once again participate in the 2026 Horses for Mental Health Campaign, a global movement dedicated to expanding access to mental health and well-being services that incorporate horses.
Last year, our community came together to raise $3,500 in support of our equine programs. This year, we’re inviting ambassadors to help us go even further! As an ambassador, you’ll help raise awareness, share why this mission matters to you, and rally your network to support programs that create meaningful impact for those we serve.
Early giving is open now! Funds raised through Midlands Gives will directly support all of our programs and services, including equine-assisted therapy and learning, yoga and tai chi, gardening, Warrior PATHH, Struggle Well, peer-to-peer groups, art and music therapy, and more.
Thanks to the generosity of longtime supporters of the Barn, we have $15,000 in matching donations available, meaning your gift can go twice as far. And with Early Giving officially open, you can make your impact today without waiting for Midlands Gives day!
