This past Friday and Saturday, I had the chance to be a learner.

A small gathering in Michigan of like-minded souls, working alongside mentors we admire on our presentation skills. A chance to learn from people I look up to, hear from others doing similar work, and sharpen my own craft. Full body YES! It was exactly the nourishment I needed.

The chance to fully BE a student is important for each and every one of us who works with people. Here are a few reasons why:

None of us are fully "there" yet. Wherever "there" is for you, the journey is ongoing, and that's the coolest!

Learning about things you care about is joyful. It feels good! There is energy and aliveness in choosing to learn.

People trust us more when they know we are learners too. If you are doing work you hope others might one day learn from, showing that you are still in the process yourself builds credibility and connection.

The more you model learning, the more you invite others to take risks. Your curiosity gives people around you permission to be curious too.

A Next Step
What is something you do frequently, maybe even something you think you are already pretty good at, where making a little time to learn more might nourish you? Identify it. Go do it! I would love to hear what it is and what you discover. 😊

Stay Curious!
Paige
P.S. Here is a great opportunity for learning: Facilitator Mindsets Workshop. If you work with people, this workshop is for you!
