Catching Up, Workshops, & More
Hi friends,

I hope your first quarter of 2026 had moments of joy, fulfillment, and hope.

Here I am enjoying a Guatemalan enchilada (completely different from a Mexican enchilada) just because. 😀 We all need comfort food these days.
Spring sprang early in L.A. this year. (It was more like summer at first.) I'm behiiiiiiiind on editing the video of Home[sic] but determined to catch up (even finish?) this week!

It kinda feels like I'm in overlapping timelines because of what I've managed to do this year so far and what's gotten way ahead of me. Like summer coming before spring.

Can you relate? Scroll down for a writing prompt inspired by this!

🖋 Your Writing Prompt
Set a 10-minute timer:
  • Write about something you didn't complete or do at all this past quarter that you expected to have finished. (5 min)

  • Write about something you did get done this past quarter, whether it was planned or unexpected. It could be any sized task, butchadidit! (3 min)

  • Did you reward yourself for the latter? If so, how? If not, how would you like to reward yourself? (2 min)
Reward yourself for writing! Play a fave tune, touch grass, put your hand on your heart and say “Well done.” ❤️

🗣️ Speaker / Panelist

At the Critical Mixed Race Studies (CMRS) Conference in February at UCLA, I presented on the panel “Writing as Process: Loss, Healing, and Identity Affirmation in Mixed Asian Storytelling” with Roberta Wolfson, Rena Heinrich, and Ingrid Hu Dahl.
My paper was on “Creating and Touring Alien Citizen: Personal Narrative as a Self Healing Act for the Mixed Race Third Culture Kid.” It was an honor to present alongside these incredible writers/speakers/scholars!
