Last week, I wrote about that moment when nothing is technically wrong, but something still feels a little off.
It’s a strange feeling, because on the surface, everything is moving. Work is happening. Life is full. But underneath it all, something doesn’t feel quite right.
One thing I notice, both in my own life and in conversations with women I work with, is how quickly we assume the answer is to push harder. Usually sometime late in the day, when you finally sit down and try to sort everything out.
Maybe I just need to get more organized.
Sit down and make a real plan.
Finally, sort everything out on my own.
Sometimes that helps…
But sometimes the real shift comes from doing the opposite for a minute.
Just slowing down long enough to see what’s actually asking for your attention.
Not everything that’s loud,
just what actually matters right now.
Most of the time, there’s one thing underneath it all. A decision that’s been waiting. A direction that you've been circling for a while.
Once that becomes clear, the rest of the noise usually settles down on its own. Sometimes it takes another set of eyes to see that clearly.
That’s often where steadiness comes back.
You might ask yourself:
What actually needs my attention right now?
And what just feels urgent because it’s been sitting there too long?
You might be surprised how quickly things get clearer from there.
